Nationwide search for grandmother accused of 2 killings

News

(WSPA) — Authorities have launched a nationwide search for a grandmother suspected of murdering her husband before killing another woman to assume her identity.

Florida investigators say 56-year-old Lois Riess targeted one victim because she looked like her.

Police says Riess murdered Pamela Hutchinson then stole her credit cards, vehicle and assumed her identity.

Riess is also accused of murdering her husband, David, in Minnesota before heading south to Florida.

Hutchinson was killed earlier this month in Fort Myers.

Hutchinson’s family tells WTVR that she was a generous and trusting person.

Her cousin, Daniele Jeffreys, told the news station that Riess’ actions were “pure evil… How can you go around killing people for no other good reason other than to keep yourself out of prison?”

Riess is also accused of murdering her husband, David, in Minnesota before heading south to Florida.
Riess was last seen near Corpus Christi, Texas.

CBS News reports she has no previous criminal history.
