NC reports 2,585 coronavirus cases, 31 deaths


NORTH CAROLINA (WSPA) – North Carolina health officials now say 31 residents have died from coronavirus-related complications.

That number is up from 24 deaths that were reported on Saturday.

The new figure was released Sunday morning as the total number of cases reached 2,585.

That number is up 183 since Saturday.

A total of 89 counties are reporting COVID-19 cases and the number of hospitalized patients went down from 271 to 261 on Sunday.

Haywood County health officials confirmed their third case on Sunday, saying the resident is isolated at home and has no out of state travel history.
