Neighbors recount double shooting in quiet Greer neighborhood

GREER, SC (WSPA) – Police say a woman has been arrested for attempted murder in the shootings of her father and brother. 

Greer police responded to the double shooting on Lemon Creek Drive shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. 

Officers found one victim in a home and a second victim lying in a neighbor’s driveway. Those victims later identied as the suspect’s father and brother.

“He was yelling for help screaming at the top of lungs just wanting help saying she was out of ammo, but he just wanted someone to help him,” said Jamie Gosnell who lives nearby.

Gosnell tells 7News the father tried running from his daugther and eventually collapsed in a neighbor’s driveway.

The suspect Casey Navy, 32, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

One victim was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital by helicopter while the other was taken by ambulance to Spartanburg Medical Center.

Greer Police Lt. Patrick Fortenberry said both men underwent surgery and are believed to be in stable condition as of Thursday morning. 

Navy remains in jail without bond. 

Neighbors said Navy recently moved back into the home within the last week.
