New app created on campus helps Clemson Life students succeed

CLEMSON, SC (WSPA) – Clemson Life and departments at Clemson University have worked together to create an app to help the students get and keep jobs.

Clemson Life is a group of 40 students with intellectual disabilities who are learning how to live and work independently. This new task analysis app that went  public this year is able to be customized for each person to help break down the steps of a task complete with pictures and videos.

“In a work type setting we don’t have to have a job coach there and Frankie is a perfect example of that where you aren’t dependent on someone else to complete what you want to do,” said Joe Ryan who is the Founder and Director of Clemson Life.

The group is also working to launch two more apps, one focused on grocery shopping and the other navigation to help the students gain even more independence.
