NFL legend Buddy Ryan dies at 82

(WISH) – Former NFL head coach Buddy Ryan has died, according to a report from ESPN.

Ryan’s agent James Solane confirmed the news on Tuesday. Ryan was 82.

Ryan was best known as a defensive coordinator and coach in the NFL for 35 season and for his “46 Defense.”

He worked with the New York Jets in 1968. The team went on to play in Super Bowl III. He also helped the Bears win a blow out game for Super Bowl XX against the New England Patriots.

Ryan later went on to be the head coach of Philadelphia Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals.
