No Arrests Yet In Shooting In Williamston


A man was wounded in the leg after he says he was shot Tuesday night in Williamston.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened at a storage area off Highway 29 North, but deputies found the victim at a home on Crappie Drive.

The victim told deputies he went with a friend to the location off Highway 29 where they were confronted by three men around 9:30 p.m. Two of the men were armed and one fired at the victim with a shot gun. The incident report says the shooter tried to fire at the second man, but the shot gun was out of ammunition.

Both of the men ran from the suspected shooters until they got to a home on Crappie Drive where they called 911. A sheriff’s office spokesman told us earlier the shooters and the victims knew each other.

No arrests have been made.

Blood was found at the storage facility off Highway 29 North and deputies investigated the scene.
