No threat to students in Ninety Six after social media post found, police say

NINETY SIX, SC (WSPA) – Ninety Six Police Department officers, along with Greenwood County deputies, investigated a threat that was posted on social media.

According to a police department news release, the police department received a call around 7:30 a.m. in regards to the threat, and officers and deputies worked quickly to determine the validity of the threat.

An investigation revealed that there was no threat to any student attending schools in Ninety Six, and the incident was turned over to school district administration.

Police said the student(s) involved in the incident are juveniles and the department will not be releasing any names at this time.
