Non-profit groups in the Upstate looking for volunteers

(WSPA)- There are eighteen non-profits looking for people to help keep their services up and running.

Among the groups needing volunteers are Alzheimer’s Organization, Animal Care, Appalachian Council of Governments, Baptist Easley Hospital, Bon Secours St Francis, Caris Healthcare, Greenville Literacy Association, Greenville Habitat for Humanity, Hospice Care of South Carolina, Interim Health Care; Lutheran Hospice, Meals on Wheels of Greenville, Medi-Home Hospice, Providence Care, Safe Harbor, Inc., Spartanburg Regional Hospice, The American Red Cross, Upstate Chapter, and Thrive Upstate.

This Seniors Service Division of BHHS C. Dan Joyner REALTORS sponsored event will be held September 6, from 3-5 p.m at the Woodlands at Furman, 1500 Trailhead Court, Greenville, SC 29617.

This event is free and no RSVP is required.

Once you match with a volunteer program, they’ll provide you with free training and continual education to make sure you want to stay and volunteer with them.

Event organizers say volunteers are the reason so many of these non-profits are able to make a difference here in the Upstate and hopefully today’s fair will allow people to see how many opportunities there are to help out.
