Over 500 high schoolers walkout in Greenville Co., cited for cutting class

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Greenville County Schools officials reported that several students participated in the National Walkout Wednesday morning.

School officials said the students who participated will be cited for cutting class.

The numbers below represent the number of high students from each high school in the county who participated:

  • Berea – 0
  • Blue Ridge – 1
  • Carolina – 20
  • Eastside – 27
  • Greenville – 7
  • Greer – 5
  • Hillcrest – 39
  • J.L. Mann – 206
  • Mauldin – 179
  • Riverside -16
  • Southside – 0
  • Travelers Rest – 30
  • Wade Hampton – 0
  • Woodmont – 0
  • Fine Arts Center – 1

Greenville County Schools officials said 120 students also participated in the walkout at Tanglewood Middle School.
