Pedestrian hit by truck near I-185 in Mauldin ID’d

GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – A woman killed while walking on Fork Shoals Road near Interstate 185 in Mauldin Monday night was identified Tuesday.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said a woman was hit by a car near the Exit 4 ramp of I-185 around 7 p.m. Monday. 

The victim died at the scene.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Ashley Garren, 30, of Greenville.

According to the coroner’s office, witnesses said Garren was walking on Fork Shoals Road with her back to approaching traffic when she was hit from behind by a small truck.

The coroner said Garen died from blunt force injuries to the neck and said her manner of death was ruled an accident.

The man driving the truck was not hurt in the crash.
