EASLEY, S.C. (WSPA) — Police say a pedestrian died of injuries after they were hit by a driver also hurt in an Easley crash.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of South 5th Street, Easley Police Chief Tim Tollison said in a Facebook post.

The pedestrian was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where they later died.

Their name has not been released at this time.

Police say it appears the driver veered across a lane and hit the pedestrian on a sidewalk before hitting a utility pole.

The driver was also hurt. Police say the driver was taken to Baptist Easley Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
