SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — Troopers say a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by an SUV in Spartanburg County.

Lance Cpl. Gary Miller with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the wreck happened around midnight on S. Pine Street near Amelia Avenue.

Miller said a Union woman was driving east on S. Pine Street when she hit a pedestrian walking in the road.

The coroner identified the pedestrian as 53-year-old Michael Lee Robinson of Whitestone Glendale Road in Spartanburg County.

Troopers say the driver was not hurt.

There are no charges in the crash.

It was the second deadly accident in Spartanburg County in less than 24 hours.

Troopers say a Pauline woman died Monday afternoon after the SUV she was driving ran off the right side of Highway 56 and overturned, throwing her from the vehicle.
