Pendleton High School plans extra security following social media threats

ANDERSON, S.C. (WSPA) - Pendleton High School has been working with law enforcement officials Thursday evening after potential threats were made on social media. 

Anderson District 4 Schools Superintendent Dr. Joanne Avery told 7News that the school plans to have additional security at the school Friday after a number of threats were made on social media. 

According to the Pendleton High Facebook page, they are "taking these threats seriously and working closely with law enforcement who will have extra presence on campus tomorrow."

The school asked, "All students, parents, employees, and community members work closely and cooperatively with the school's administration and law enforcement as we work through this situation."
