Pendleton quadruple homicide still unsolved 1 year later

ANDERSON CO, SC (WSPA-TV) — It has been one year since four people were found dead inside a home on Refuge Dr. in Pendleton.

Investigators say Michael and Cathy Scott, along with their mothers, Barbara Scott and Violet Taylor, were shot and killed.

“It’s still a very active investigation.  Even though we haven’t arrested anyone for it, we are still working on it every week,” said Captain Garland Major with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.

Captain Major says two investigators are assigned to the case.  They’re repeatedly going over evidence and searching for missed clues.

They’re investigating, even taking them out of state.

“This month they went to Tennessee and got some information on the case.  We’ve even consulted with some experts in California,” Major explained.

Deputies believe the attacker targeted the family and took the victims by surprise on November 2nd, 2015.

The Sheriff’s Office is still asking anyone with information to come forward.  Even if it’s something you don’t think is important, they say it would be the break they’re waiting on.

“We don’t brush off anything.  We look at every lead that comes to us,” said Major.
