Person shot trying to force open door of Anderson home, deputies say

ANDERSON Co., S.C. (WSPA) — Deputies say a person was shot in the neck and hand while trying to force his way into a home in Anderson County.

The shooting on Capitol Way was reported around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday.

J.T. Foster, a spokesman for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, said the person who was shot tried to force open the door to a home. A resident inside the home fired one or two shots, hitting him in the neck and hand.

Foster believes the person shot had been trespassed from the location.

After the shooting, he ran from the scene and was taken to the hospital.

Deputies say his injuries are not life threatening.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
