Pickens Main Street Challenge winners say grant helped grow business

The Pickens Revitalization Association is excited to announce three new businesses and winners of the Main Street Challenge.

The businesses were asked to submit a business plan and plans for what they might do with any financial winnings they’d receive.

Winners include Burgess and Taylor General Store, on West Main Street.  Owner Jack Burgess said their goal is to offer a diverse selection of items while supporting local producers.

The Colonial House is nearby on Griffin Street where you can stay the night and have a meal at the local bed and breakfast. They have 5 unique rooms on the second story and offer a feel of old town Pickens.

The Twisted Skillet Bistro is owned by a local Pickens native and a northerner who offer a taste of the two regions in their cuisine.
