Pickens man killed in crash

PICKENS CO. (WSPA) – One person is dead after their pickup truck went off the road and flipped early Sunday morning in Easley.

The S.C. Highway Patrol says this happened at 4 a.m. on Hester Store Road.

The coroner identified the victim as 24-year-old John Thomas McCombs IV of Pickens.

Troopers say McCombs was driving a pickup truck on Hester Store Road when he ran off the left side of the road and flipped near Old Dacusville Road.

The coroner said McCombs died at the scene of the accident from his injuries.

Troopers say McCombs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
