ANDERSON, SC (WSPA)- A man was attacked by a pit bull Monday morning in Anderson County.

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 10 a.m. after the man was walking down Alpha Street.

The victim says a large female pit bull mix ran off a porch and attacked him, according to reports.

Deputies say the victim suffered multiple severe wounds all over their body: wounds to his legs, stomach, arms, and face.

The victim says a neighbor ran out and helped him get away from the dog.

The dog was tied to the front porch of a home with a nylon cord that allowed for the dog to enter the street about three feet, reports say.

The dog’s owner was not at home at the time and the dog was taken to Anderson County P.A.W.S

The victim was taken by EMS to ANMED.
