Plane makes emergency landing on Union Blvd. in Union

UNION, S.C. (WSPA) – A plane made an emergency landing in Union on Thursday.

The plane landed on Union Boulevard and nobody was hurt, according to Union County Emergency Management. The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane, which is a single-engine, fixed-wing aircraft.

According to flight-tracking website, the plane left Myrtle Beach Thursday morning headed for Knoxville, TN.

Federal Aviation Administration staff Thursday afternoon oversaw an inspection of the craft, which was towed from its landing location to the Union County Airport. After an inspection, the pilot taxied the plane around the air strip before parking it in the hangar once more.

The airport tells 7NEWS the plane will likely need more in-depth mechanical attention.
