6 shot at Cook Out in Spartanburg, police say

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - Police said multiple people were shot in the parking lot of a restaurant in Spartanburg.

The shooting happened Friday night at about 11:30 p.m. at the Cook Out on John B. White Sr. Boulevard, according to Spartanburg Police.

Six people were taken to the hospital by ambulance or personal vehicle after the shooting, police said.

Police said the ages of the victims range from 16-years-old and 24-years-old and that some of the victims were students at Dorman High School and Spartanburg High School.

The victims' injuries are believed to be non life-threatening and they are all expected to make a full recovery.

"I'm praying for all the people that were involved in the shooting," said Alex Crawley, a witness on scene.

Police said the entire incident happened in the parking lot of the restaurant.

Witnesses told officers that the shooter(s) never entered the business, according to police. 

They believe the shooting happened after a fight in the parking lot of the restaurant.

Three vehicles in the parking lot were hit by gunfire, police said.

No suspects are in custody at this time.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Spartanburg Police.
