Police searching for 2 in robbery at Fatz Cafe in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg police are searching for suspects in a robbery at FATZ Cafe. 

Major Art Littlejohn said two people entered a back door of the restaurant, located at 100 Southport Road, a little after 10 p.m. Monday. 

No employees were reportedly hurt in the robbery.

An employee told police two black males wearing all black approached him as he was taking out the trash and claimed they were looking for their nephew. 

According to a police report, a restaurant worker saw one suspect in a black mask exit the meat locker and run towards the exit before he turned and fired one shot. 

An officer noted a hole in the restaurant ceiling.

The suspect who fired the shot was last seen running down John B. White Sr. Boulevard. 

Officers and K-9 units attempted to track the suspects. 

Major Littlejohn said no arrests and no suspects had been positively identified as of Tuesday morning.
