Police to hold news conference about 2016 homicide case in Anderson

ANDERSON, SC (WSPA) – Anderson Police Department officials will hold a news conference today in regards to a 2016 homicide case.

We reported earlier that Randy Carlos Smith, 36, died following a drive-by shooting that happened in front of a convenience store on East Whitner Street on March 30, 2016 at around 9 p.m.

Investigators believed the vehicle the suspect was in was a white Chevrolet Cruze, and that the suspect was shooting from the passenger window.

The family of Smith and Crime Stoppers raised a $4,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for Smith’s death.

Anderson Police officials will hold a news conference about the case at 701 E. Whitner St. at noon.
