Prisma Health to expand vasectomy services during March Madness

News

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – An Upstate doctor is adding his own take on March Madness by using it as an opportunity to talk to men about their health.

Dr. Blake Wynia, with Prisma Health-Upstate’s Regional Urology, is encouraging those who have been considering a vasectomy to do so.

He said the patient can sit at home for a few days after their procedure and watch the basketball games.

“We have some activities out in the lobby,” Wynia said. “Snacks, hot dogs, food. Little special brackets for the patients to do. They will go home with some special party favors that say Vasectomy Madness.”

Wynia said that he sees a 10 to 20 percent uptick in his practice during March for vasectomies, and again in December when patients have met their deductibles.

Prisma Health-Upstate’s Regional Urology will be expanding its vasectomy services on Thursday, March 21.
