Pro race car drivers Ryan Reed and Conor Daly stopped by “Camp Buddy” in Greenville Tuesday to share an important message.
They were both diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at an early age, and wanted to inspire children battling the same disease to keep reaching for their dreams.
Camp Buddy is a three-day camp in Greenville for children with diabetes, designed to help them learn more about the disease and how to manage it.
Reed says he was told he would never race again when he was diagnosed at the age of 17, until a new doctor told him it would be possible with hard work. He says he hopes to share that message of hope.
Both drivers will race for Lilly Diabetes at the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Road America August 25th.
