Proposed downtown Spartanburg hotel moves forward

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – A new hotel is a step closer to setting up shop in downtown Spartanburg.

The city’s design review board discussed the Cambria Hotel at Tuesday’s meeting.

The six-story building is proposed for the corner of North Church Street and St. John’s Street right across from the Montgomery Building.

The 119-room hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2020, according to a news release from Choice Hotels.
