Public’s input wanted on Boiling Springs Road improvements

SPARTANBURG Co., S.C. (WSPA) — The S.C. Department of Transportation wants the public’s input on road improvements plans in the Boiling Springs area.

Transportation officials plan to make changes along a half-mile stretch of Highway 9 from Interstate 85 to Rogers Commerce Boulevard.

A meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Upstate Family Resource Center at 1850 Old Furnace Rd. in Boiling Springs.

SCDOT says the meeting will be held in an open house format with displays and maps for people to see.

Engineers will discuss widening Highway 9 to three lanes in both directions from Interstate 85 to the intersection of Shoally Creek Road and 4th Street.

Engineers are also looking at improvements at that intersection, as well as Highway 9 and Candlenut Lane.
