SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — The American Automobile Association (AAA) predicts this will be the busiest Memorial Day weekend since 2005.
Paying at the pump isn’t as painful as years past.
The national average is $2.31 a gallon which is the lowest it’s been since 2011.
In South Carolina, the average is even lower.
The prices tend to be a big incentive for holiday travelers.
“You can’t even get in here and I-85 is a parking lot right now,” said Katie Savage as she pumped gas at a QuikTrip in Greer.
While some are hitting the highways, others are taking to the skies.
While checking out crowds at GSP Airport, we spotted a familiar face.
Lead singer and last surviving member of The Temptations, Dennis Edwards, was waiting for his luggage.
“The lines were just awful,” Edwards said.
