GREENVILLE CO., SC (WSPA) – Redemption Church held a hand-off service Sunday as outgoing pastor Ron Carpenter handed the church keys to incoming pastor John Gray.
Ron and Hope Carpenter started Redemption Church more than 25 years ago.
Gray comes from Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston where he was associate pastor.
Gray also has a reality TV show on OWN Network which is set to continue shooting in Greenville.
The Carpenters announced in December that they will move their ministry to San Jose, California later this month.
The church will now be renamed to Relentless Church.
The church will hold an installation for the new pastor on June 3. Osteen is expected to be in attendance.
