Registered sex offender arrested on child sex crimes in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Asheville Police Department officials said a registered sex offender has been arrested on child sex crimes.

According to a police department news release, Mark Wayne King, 60, of Asheville, was arrested and charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Police said King was previously convicted of the same crime and is a registered sex offender.

“King was employed at a laundromat in West Asheville, a location where he had the potential to come into contact with additional victims,” from the release.
