HART Co., Georgia (WSPA) — A rescue group is trying to find out who abandoned five small dogs outside a home while the owner was away.
Hart County Animal Rescue said in a Facebook post that it’s trying to track down the owners of five Chiweenies – Chihuahua and Dachshund mixes – left in two crates at a house on Saturday night.
The rescue said no one was home at the time.
“… Absolutely heartbreaking to think of the slow painful death that could have happened to these precious souls,” Hart County Animal Rescue said in the post.
The dogs were found scared, hungry and thirsty and two need eye surgery, according to the rescue.
They’re asking for donations and homes to foster the dogs.
