Rite Aid opens Spartanburg Co. distribution center

News

Rite Aid will officially open its distribution center in Spartanburg County Wednesday.

There is a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned at the facility at 10am.

The 900-thousand square-foot facility is located along Business 85 near Parris Bridge Road and Highway 221 in Spartanburg County.

Company officials announced the project in January of 2015.

It’s a $90 million development.  The center will help consolidate other facilities within the country, including one in Charlotte.

This is the first new distribution center for the company in 16 years.  This center will service more than a thousand stores across 12 states.

600 jobs are expected to come over the next 2 years.

Senior VP of Supply Chain Wilson Lester said the company has hired around 250 so far and is appreciative that the employees come to the table with previous experience.

To apply for jobs go to the company’s website.
