GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – There will be a run-off between incumbent Gov. Henry McMaster and Greenville businessman John Warren who just entered the race for South Carolina’s next governor in February.
Both candidates have spoken about why they’re the best man for the job.
“This is a great victory tonight. We’re gonna do it again in two weeks,” said McMaster Tuesday night.
Wednesday morning on Fox Business Network, Warren said he’s more like President Trump than McMaster, despite Trump’s endorsement of the incumbent governor.
“If you look at whose resume resembles Donald Trump, it’s not the 30 year career politician. It’s myself.”
The winner of the run-off between McMaster and Warren takes on Democrat James Smith in November’s general election.
Warren and McMaster will debate next week in Newberry ahead of the run-off in two weeks.
