SC teen held in bunker subject of Lifetime movie

(WSPA) — A South Carolina teen abducted as she headed home from school is the heroine in a Lifetime movie.

People.com reports the movie, “Girl in the Bunker,” will air next month.

The movie tells the harrowing story of Elizabeth Shoaf.

In September 2006, the then 14-year-old was abducted and held in an underground bunker for 10 days before her rescue.  

Her abductor was identified as Vinson Wayne Filyaw. He pleaded guilty to several crimes in September 2007 and was sentenced to 421 years in prison. 

Girl in the Bunker is schedule to air at 8 p.m. on May 28.
