ANDERSON CO., S.C. (WSPA) – Crews are working to repair a bridge hit by a truck last week.

The Anderson Highway bridge, known as the U.S. 29 connector, has been closed since the accident on Wednesday.

Northbound U.S. 29 at the bridge was closed.

The truck was pulling an empty container that was too high for the bridge, according to troopers.

Troopers say no one was hurt after the container was knocked off the truck.

The S.C. Department of Transportation says crews will work through the weekend if weather permits.

They will put in a new guardrail, fix damage to the road due to the accident and the work taking place, and replace some of the guardrail on Highway 29.

They say they have all the equipment in place.

They will removing about five feet of concrete on the bridge.
