(WSPA) – School districts and universities announced schedule changes Friday due to potential severe weather in the Upstate.

The National Weather Service’s forecast predicts high wind speeds with gusts of over 40-50 mph.

The following districts have made changes:

  • Cherokee County School District announced an eLearning day
  • Spartanburg County School Districts 1-7 announced an eLearning day
  • Greenwood School District 50 and 52 will operate on a half-day dismissal
  • The School District of Pickens County said school will dismiss as normal but all afterschool activities have been canceled.

In addition, Clemson University announced their baseball game against the University of South Carolina has been rescheduled from the original 6 p.m. start time to 7:30 p.m.
