GREENWOOD, SC (WSPA) – A 3rd grader brought 2 airsoft guns to Pinecrest elementary school on Monday, according to Greenwood School District 50.

Someone reported to administration at the school that a student was playing with a suspicious object.

They found 2 unloaded airsoft pistols in the student’s book bag, secured them and contacted law enforcement.

An airsoft gun fires plastic BB’s and is used in shooting sports similar to paintball.

Some of them look very realistic.

The school district says the student will be disciplined, according to the student handbook.
