(WSPA) — School officials across the area say they’re watching the threat of severe threat and making changes.Greenville Co. Schools
All elementary students released. High school and middle schools will dismiss on schedule.
All school buses in Greenville County will be delayed 30 minutes because of the late dismissal of elementary students.
All afternoon and evening athletic events cancelled.Anderson County District 1 Schools
Anderson School District 1 is cancelling K4 afternoon classes.
They issued the following statement.
“Due to weather concerns and out of an abundance of caution for our students, there will be no K4 afternoon classes for Anderson School District One on Monday, April 4, 2017.”
School District 1 is not sending students to the career center due to weather.
Anderson School District 3 will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. today due to the potential for severe weatherAnderson Co. District 3
Due to the potential of severe weather Anderson School District 3 will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to the district.Pickens County Schools
Pickens County Schools are also cancelling 4K classes and after-school activities.
They say there is a possibility of late dismissal for all schools.
A spokesman with the School District of Pickens County said early dismissals would be approved only for emergencies and schools won’t dismiss students into unsafe weather. Dismissals will be communicated by phone, email, social media, schools websites and news.Greenwood County Schools
Greenwood School District 50 has cancelled all after-school activities. It’s possible schools could have a delayed dismissal up to 4 p.m. n order to keep children safe.
Newberry Co, Schools
All after school activities cancelled.
This will include practices, games, Boys/Girls Clubs, as well as the National Technical Honor Society event that was to be held at the Newberry Opera House. The National Technical Honor Society event will be rescheduled at a later date.
