Self-defense classes for women offered by USC Upstate Police

SPARTANBURG, S.C._(WSPA) The University of South Carolina Upstate Police Department will hold self-defense classes for women of all ages and abilities.

The courses will be taught by certified Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) instructors from the campus police department.

Designed to give hands on training in self-defense realistic situations, each class includes awareness, prevention, risk reduction, risk avoidance and hands-on defensive training.

The classes will be held October 10-12 5:00pm-9:00pm in the University Readiness Center Great Room.

The class is free to students. Faculty, staff and the community must pay a $25 fee to participate.

All registered to attend will receive a confirmation with the time, date and location of the class with wardrobe requirements.
