Services set for WYFF journalists killed in crash in Polk Co.

(WSPA) – A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for a WYFF photojournalist who died in a crash on Highway 176 in Polk County on Monday.

 Aaron Smeltzer’s fiancΓ©, Heather Lawter, told us that the service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Lawter said the public is welcome to attend the Celebration of Life.

Smeltzer and WYFF reporter/anchor Mike McCormick died Monday after a tree fell on their news vehicle while reporting on storms in Western North Carolina.

McCormick’s visitation will be held Friday, June 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St. in Spartanburg, according to the funeral home’s website.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Central United Methodist Church, 233 N. Church St. in Spartanburg.
