TARBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – A documented ‘Sex Money Murder’ gang member has been arrested on drug charges, deputies said.
Jeremee D. Epps, 22, of Pinetops, was charged with level 1 of trafficking heroin and maintaining a place for the sale of heroin.
On Wednesday, the Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division along with the Tar River Regional Drug Task Force and the Pinetops Police Department conducted a search at a residence located near Macclesfield.
Deputies said they found 385 bags of heroin, a stolen Smith and Wesson Body Guard .380 caliber handgun and a small amount of marijuana inside his residence.
Epps was responsible for the sale of trafficking amount of heroin from his residence, deputies said.
Deputies said that Epps was currently on probation for cocaine possession.
Lakesha L. Jenkins, 29, of Macclesfield, was also arrested.
She was charged with maintaining a place for the sale of heroin.
Epps was given a $185,000 bond and Jenkins a $50,000 bond.
The case is still under investigation and more arrests are expected.
Deputies said that charges related to the firearm found are still under investigation.
Sheriff Atkinson wants to thank the agencies who assisted in this arrests.
“It takes agencies working together to make an impact in communities to curtail the drug sales and violent gang activities and to take firearms out of the hands of gang members and drug dealers,” said Sheriff Atkinson.
