SLED: Former Upstate detention center officer arrested for domestic violence

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – South Carolina Law Enforcement Division agents arrested a former Upstate detention center officer following a domestic incident Thursday in Spartanburg County. 

According to the arrest warrant, Kelvin Odias Washington, 50, choked the victim and hurt their wrist. 

SLED said Washington and the victim live together. 

Washington was arrested and taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.  

He has been charged with second degree domestic violence.

The case will be referred to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office, according to SLED.
