GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – Additional school district personnel and law enforcement will be at an area high school after school administrators were made aware of a threatening social media post on Thursday.

According to Greenville County Schools spokesperson Beth Brotherton, Riverside High School administrators were notified about a Snapchat post threatening violence against the high school.

Brotherton said they learned that Riverside High School was not specifically mentioned, but said they take every potential threat seriously and immediately called law enforcement.

According to the news release, Greer Police Department officers investigated the post and determined that it did not represent a valid threat against the school.

Brotherton said as a precaution there will be additional district personnel and law enforcement on Riverside’s campus on Friday.
