Spartanburg mom, daughter killed in head-on crash

JACKSON COUNTY, NC (WSPA)- A mother and daughter were killed in a car crash in Jackson County on Monday.

Ann Cory Braswell, 63, of Spartanburg, and her mother Earlene Cory, 85, of Spartanburg were hit by a 20-year-old driver from Franklin in the head-on crash, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the 20-year-old crossed the center line while driving south on US-23, and hit the victim’s vehicle,

The 20-year-old was hurt and flown to Mission Hospital, reports say.

Troopers say no charges have been filed in the accident yet. They are waiting on the autopsy to present to the district attorney to determine if charges should be filed.
