SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – The Chapman Cultural Center’s Fifth Annual International Kite Festival will take off on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival — with a missing to “build civic pride, promote healthy outdoor play and celebrate cultural and creativity — will be held in the green spaces behind the Chapman Cultural Center.
Those wishing to participate are encouraged to bring their own kites, but kites will also be available for purchase at the Chapman Cultural Center booth and free kites will be given out from the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport booth.
Several local musicians will also be on-hand during the festival, as well as multiple local food trucks.
Free activities and crafts will be available for children of all ages.
WSPA’s Christy Henderson and Amy Wood will also be participating in a kite battle starting at 2 p.m.
