ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) – Travelers in Asheville have another choice when it comes to airlines for flights to Florida.
Spirit Airlines is adding roundtrip flights to three destinations in Florida, beginning in early September.
The Florida-based airline will fly from Asheville Regional Airport to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, Orlando International, and Tampa International airports.
Flights to Tampa begin September 6 and there will be two weekly flights, increasing to three on November 8.
Flights to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando begin September 7 with three weekly flights, increasing to four on November 8.
“We are so excited to offer service between the beautiful Asheville region and three cities in sunny Florida, as they are all incredible destinations.” says Spirit Airlines’ Vice President of Network Planning Mark Kopczak.
The new routes were announced Wednesday morning during a ceremony at the Asheville Regional Airport.
The low-cost airline also announced flights from Greensboro, North Carolina to the same three destinations in Florida, Tuesday.
