Stewart Jones wins special election for SC State House Dist. 14

LAURENS CO., SC (WSPA) – Republican Stewart Jones has won the special election to fill the vacated South Carolina State House District 14 seat.

Jones defeated Democrat Garrett McDaniel in the election, Tuesday.

Final vote tally:

(D)- Garrett McDaniel – 1,490 (43.50%)
(R)- Stewart Jones – 1,932 (56.41%)

The district 14 seat has been vacant since January 3 when Representative Mike Pitts retired.

Pitts retired at the advice of his doctors and family following two rounds of cancer treatment, a heart attack, and surgery.
