Stressed out? How you can smash stuff (safely) at a new business in Greenville

Need a break from life’s stresses?

Well now there’s a new place in the Greenville where you can break things and let someone else clean up the mess.

We got a sneak peak of Smashit/Axit ahead of its grand opening Saturday.

“You’re either throwing at an ax board, your hitting a car or your breaking stuff. We can be 10 again and have a tantrum without getting into any trouble,” said Chase Michaels, one of three partners.

Dave Ropes, who used to head the marketing departments of Fortunate 500 companies like Reebok, Pepsi and Ford, is also a partner.

“Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would retire to sweeping smashed stuff off the floor,” said Ropes, with a laugh.

The pair, plus another partner took this from concept to reality in just 40 days. And they’ve had a blast putting it together (and breaking things themselves).

When Smashit/Axit officially opens Saturday May 4, prices will start at $10 for ax throwing and 25 for smashing.

Want to pay less? No problem, bring your own stuff to smash.

Of course, you may change your mind when you see that BMW.

Whatever you do don’t be afraid to put some muscle into it.

“You bring the stress, you create the mess, and we take care of the rest,” said Micheals.
