MACON COUNTY, NC (WSPA) – Macon County Schools officials said a high school student was detained Tuesday after a list, containing the name of other students who they allegedly intended to harm, was discovered.

According to the school system’s Facebook post, the student who wrote the list attended Franklin High School.

The student was detained and Macon County Sheriff’s Office deputies, detectives and SROs were on the Franklin High School campus.

The students whose names were on the list, and their parents, were notified about the incident individually.

According to the post, “the situation is under control.”

The sheriff’s office added that phone calls were made to the parents of the students by the school system.
