A new study could make you think twice before wearing new clothes without putting them through the wash first.
According to the Huffington Post, a professor at New York University looked at how much bacteria and germs were left on clothes after people tried them on.
Philip Tierno is a professor of microbiology and pathology. He conducted studies testing all types of clothes, including dresses, pants, and more.
His research found clothes with norovirus and bacteria like strep and staph.
The professor did say the risk of getting an infection from these clothes is “very low.”
Tierno says more people than you think try on the clothes you bought.
