Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has made maybe one of her most important rulings, she says hot dogs are indeed sandwiches.
In an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Stephen was told not to ask Ginsburg about any pending cases, but wasted no time bring up the divisive issue: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
The Supreme Court Justice first had Colbert define what a sandwich was. According to Colbert, a sandwich is two pieces of break with almost any filling inside. She then asked, “You said, ‘two pieces of bread’ — does that include a roll that’s cut open but still not completely?'”
As we all know, subs are one piece of bread, and they’re considered sandwiches. Therefore, “(Based) on your definition, yes it is,” said Ginsberg.
There you have it, a hot dog is a sandwich!
